Royal blessing for ShelterBox Sweden at Scout Jamboree
His Majesty Carl XVI Gustaf King of Sweden has expressed his support for ShelterBox and ShelterBox Sweden during a visit to the 2011 World Scout Jamboree in Sweden, last week.
The King visited the annual event on August 5 and was said to have made a point of visiting the ShelterBox display.
Mark Dyer, ShelterBox Scout Coordinator , said: ‘The King had heard of ShelterBox’s work and made a point of visiting the ShelterBox stand. He asked lots of questions and commented several times on the high quality of equipment, especially the ShelterBox tent.
‘His Royal Highness was delighted to hear about the launch of ShelterBox Sweden and asked us to keep him informed about future work.’
The ShelterBox team then presented His Royal Highness with a special ShelterBox Scout ‘necker’ or neckerchief.
The royal blessing marks the launch of ShelterBox Sweden as an official ShelterBox affiliate.
